Bytedance adds "security checkup tool" to TikTok to secure your account

The "security checkup tool" will stop any suspicious activity and give users the privilege to turn on two-factor authentication on their TikTok.

Despite the fact that TikTok future in the United States is still under probability, the video-sharing app continues to rollout amazing features. The latest one as of 17th of March is the "security checkup tool". The tool is added to TikTok to help users protect their accounts from any suspicious activities.

It works simply by linking a phone number and email address to TikTok account to make sure users have a backup of their logins. With the security checkup, users can also turn on two-factor authentication, set up a passkey and enable biometric login options such as facial recognition.

To activate this security checkup tool, kindly login to your TikTok account and navigate to "Settings and privacy", then click on "Security & permissions", and you will the options highlighted above. You can then choose to add your phone number, email address, enable two-factor authentication, or set up passkey and biometric.

In addition to the features of the TikTok's security checkup tool, you will now be seeing all devices that have access to your account, also enabling you to deny their access simply by revoking them. To do this, simply login to your TikTok account and navigate to "Security & permissions". Click on "Manage Devices" and you can see all devices that have to your account.
